Alcala-Alcossebre will install fixed signs in areas at risk of flooding and in danger of fires
Alcala-Alcossebre Council has taken on a specialist company to undertake the study of the whole municipality with the aim of making an inventory of the areas where they detect risks, both of fire and flooding, so that signs can be put in place with warnings of these dangers, which happen fairly often in the urban nuclei and inhabited areas. Through these signs, the aim is that citizens will know the areas in the municipality where they must take special precautions. Through this action, the Municipal Emergencies Territorial Plan will be circulated throughout the population, prepared and approved by the council. The Council has already approved a special plan on fires and has a special plan on flooding already drawn up and going through revision by the Generalitat Valenciana. Other actions are being considered for spreading the information such as the publication of posters and informative guides, including a special section on the municipal web.
Mayor Francisco Juan said that “these signs will be placed permanently in the most sensitive spaces, so that all the population will be kept up to date and, in this way, we are taking care of their safety” and he reminded that “some weeks ago we had already put in place nearly 200 reflective fences in 32 areas of Alcala and Alcossebre, ready to be opened out in the event of heavy rain”.
