Alcala and Alcossebre residents visit the Cervera plant
It is planned that other groups both from Alcala and Alcossebre, will visit the facilities at the Cervera plant in the next few weeks
So that all the residents in the town can learn about the Cervera waste treatment plant, the Alcala de Xivert Council has organised a series of visits to see it.
Members of the Alcossebre Amas de Casa and the Asociación de Jubilados Sant Benet were the first to travel to the place in the Baix Maestrat to see the full treatment process for waste emanating from the home.
The Alcala de Xivert mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, explained “We thought it was a good idea and very necessary for our residents to know what is happening to our waste as, in compliance with the European regulation, it has to be treated properly and the Cervera plant is an example of the most up-to-date technology for the environment”.
According to the Mayor, “This plant is ready to accept not only the waste from the whole northern area of the province in winter but it can also service the great demand there will be when in summer the number of people increases considerably in many of the towns”.
