Police patrolling Alcossebre’s Beaches have greater mobility

In order to increase their efficiency and speed, the Beach Police service organised by the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council last summer has been improved.  The foot patrols now have the support of bicycle patrols, giving them greater operating capacity.
The bike patrols can provide better, faster coverage of the different beaches along Alcossebre’s coastline.  They can move about more quickly and, therefore, more efficiently.
In addition to their work on the beaches, these Alcala de Xivert Local Police carry out different tasks in the centre of the seaside town.  Directing traffic and controlling access to Alcossebre are some of their tasks.
For the mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, “the aim is to have the capacity to increase the services available to residents and tourists.  We believe that this is one more step to improve safety and assist people here”.
