Following the recent award of 8 Qualitur flags to the town’s shore and the six blue flags awarded to the town’s main beaches and the coastal path, the high quality of the local swimming areas is clear. Both the blue flags and the Qualitur flags are now flying on these prize coastal areas.
The local council, aware of the responsibility that these awards bring, is carrying out new improvements to continue raising the quality level of the swimming areas in the municipality.
In this way, and within the range of environmental actions which are being practised throughout the municipality, particular attention has been paid to the collection and treatment of refuse produced by beachgoers. Various selective bins have been put in place so that the recycling process can begin right from the moment that someone disposes of the refuse. This type of installation has been in place in previous years, but this year there are more bins in place to collect the refuse.
If the services in the beach areas continue improving day by day, the quality of the water on Alcossebre’s beaches will continue to be the best. The latest results obtained by the company which carries out the regular analysis have given an ‘excellent’ to the water on the town’s beaches.
