The Alcala Traditional Dance Group gave a great performance in Alcossebre

Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre’s programme of entertainment for residents and visitors to the town continued when the local traditional dance group showed how successful this group is at present.
The dancers, beautifully accompanied by the Lo Xular ‘dolçainers i tabaleters’, took the big audience on a real journey through time when they performed on the sea-front alongside the Cargador beach.
Tunes, customs and choreography were all combined to provide the audience with a complete demonstration of the local folklore and of some of the oldest of the town’s deep-rooted traditions.
At the end of the performance, mayor Francisco Juan pointed out the good work which the Alcala dance group is doing: “It is very gratifying to be able to enjoy this group’s performances, and to thank them for the work they are doing to maintain our customs and traditions.  Their performances each year show how good they are”.
