Alcala de Xivert Council carries out a food distribution campaign

On Thusday, 22nd November, Alcala de Xivert Council started their food distribution campaign, which continued on Friday.

This initiative, aimed at local needy families, is in collaboration with the Red Cross, “The Friends of Alcossebre” and residents in the town, is distribution over 8,000 kilos of food to 575 people.

According to council sources, this is not the first time that they have carried out this type of food distribution, as they had carried out one of these campaigns before and the council had been willing to carry out another distribution as soon as possible.

The mayor of Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre, Francisco Juan Mars, pointed out that “the Council is committed to help people who need it and who are suffering in these difficult times”  The council head also thanked the residents and groups who had helped with the distribution.  “I want to highlight the cooperation from the Red Cross and “The Friends of Alcossebre” association, as well as the many town residents who have voluntarily supported us with their effort to improve the people’s living conditions and I thank to them all in the name of Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre”.
