Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre
The “Tomata de Penjar” now has the Parque Natural classification awarded by the Department of Land and the Environment
The Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre “tomata de penjar” (‘hanging tomato’), which already holds the Quality Mark, has now passed the tests needed to obtain the Natural Park Mark awarded by the Department of Land and Environment.
This award is authorised to be used by those associations, companies, establishments which practise this activity within a place where there is a Natural Park and which fulfil the requirements required by this classification.
The Mayor of Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre, Francisco Juan Mars, said that “the Council is proud that through its Tourism Department, one association now has this award and we want those which are currently going through the processes to obtain it soon and join the family of the Sierra d’Irta Natural Park mark, which adds prestige to the town, its establishments and its products”.
