The Council has carried out maintenance work on the Coastal Walkway and the Path to the Lighthouse

Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council is carrying out a continual programme supervising and maintaining the Coastal Walkway and the Path to the Lighthouse, so that these public places are in a perfect state for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Municipal sources have pointed out that the maintenance work on these two paths has been stepped up during recent weeks.  The routes pass through areas of great beauty on the coast.  This makes them two of the most frequented places in the town during the summer months.

Council sources pointed out that the Coastal Walkway has been awarded a Blue Flag.  This was first presented last year – a unique award in the province - and has been revalidated this year, together with those for the town’s five beaches.

With reference to the Path to the Lighthouse, this is a very beautiful walk, through a natural area, at the base of the Sierra d’Irta Natural Park mountains and past its different coves.
