Fire Prevention course in Alcossebre

The Castellón Diputación Provincial Consortium of Firemen is organising an information campaign to prevent the outbreak of fires in the province.  In collaboration with Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council, they held a training day in Alcossebre on Saturday, 20th July, for people to learn how to protect themselves in the event of a fire.

The course was aimed particularly at residents and tourists who live in houses or chalets in the mountains or near woods and vegetation, which could be described as having an urban-forest interface.

Methods of prevention and how to act in the event of an emergency were the most important aspects of the talk.

The day was split into two parts.  The first was concerned with the theory of the most important principles to be applied when fires occur in an inhabited forested area, shown with photo and video examples of other fires.  This was followed by a practical exercise.

The talk was held in the Alcossebre Pensioners’ Hall and was attended by Councillor Rafael Trujillo.
