Alcala-Alcossebre council is to provide a Sociocultural building out of their own funds
The new building will have an area of 1,000 square metres
The Alcala de
Xivert-Alcossebre Council has announced that it is to construct a new
sociocultural facility of over 1,000 square metres, which will be used for all
sorts of events attended by a mass of people such as fiestas, concerts and
meals for large groups of people, among other things.
As the Mayor,
Francisco Juan Mars, announced, “it is a facility for the town with these
characteristics which has been requested by the town’s residents for many
years”, and he added that “it will be very useful for us when it rains or the
weather is bad, because if there is some event to be held in the open air, it
will not have to be cancelled and will be able to be moved to this space”.
The building,
with a budget of over 783,000 euros, will be constructed using the council’s
own funds, without the need to go into debt, and it is hoped that it will be
operational by mid-2014.
The new building
will be situated next to the multisport pavilion. And it will mean that we shall no longer have
to hire marquees for various activities such as carnival, which will be a
saving for the municipal coffers.
