The Castellón
Government sub-delegate, David Barelles, recognised the positive balance of
security during the last quarter in the towns of Alcala de Xivert and
Alcossebre, as “the three indices for measuring police efficiency are good”. Referring to this he pointed out the
reduction in penal crimes, the increase in solved offences and the increase in
the number of detainees and those accused in this period.
Barelles went on
to say that these figures “serve as a reason to continue with the work because,
in matters of security, one must not lower one’s guard”, at the same time he
stressed the importance of “coordination” and “collaboration” between police
bodies.
On the 5th
February the Government sub-delegate made these statements after he, together
with the Alcala de Xivert mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, had presided over a
meeting of the town’s local security committee, with the Lt.Col. of the
Castellón Guardia Civil, Juan José Miralles, representatives of the Local
Police and of the Unit of
the National Police Body attached to the Generalitat, representatives of the local agricultural
advisory board, cooperatives, traders and agricultural associations all also
participating, to raise and resolve questions about
application of the autonomous regulation for the traceability of agricultural
products..
