The Council is improving the pavement from the car park to the Alcossebre Pensioners’ Hall through the Employment Plan

[Img #30302]Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council has had work carried out to adapt the pavement which runs from the Alcossebre Pensioners’ Hall to the car park, providing greater safety for those who use it and improving pedestrian access.

The work has been carried out by workers contracted under the town’s Employment Plan, as, according to the mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, “when selecting the jobs which were called for in the current Employment Plan, requests from local residents and associations were taken into account and these had set out specific needs which we wanted to fulfil via this plan”.

According to the mayor, “this pathway in Alcossebre was difficult and dangerous, because there was a stretch where you had to walk in the road along which cars pass, so now it will be much safer for pedestrians to pass along this part”.

Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council has invested 500,000 euros in its different Employment Plans.  The aim of the town Employment Plans, according to Francisco Juan Mars, “is to create employment opportunities for residents of Alcala and Alcossebre who are unemployed and to help our residents in these times of financial crisis”.
