Alcala de Xivert Council improves the “Les Dances” and “Lo Xular” premises
Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council has improved part of the local premises of the “grup de dolçainers i tabaleters, Lo Xular” and of the dance group “les dances, Lo Cirilo”. The improvements consisted of levelling the floor with cement, improving the access and painting.
This is a municipal building which the Council ceded to the local groups, so that they had somewhere to rehearse and meet.
The mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, said that the work, which was carried out within the municipal Employment Plan, has two aspects, “whilst on the one hand it is improving public spaces, streets, pavements and buildings, the creation of jobs helps to alleviate the effects of the economic situation and unemployment among our residents”.
But Lo Xular and Lo Cirilo are also in the news as they are representing the town of Alcala-Alcossebre in the traditional Pregó procession in Castellón.
