The Alcossebre Amas de Casa celebrate Santa Agueda

They were joined for the celebrations by the Mayor of Alcala de Xivert, Francisco Juan Mars, and councillors Desam Pitarch and Maria Agut.

The Alcossebre Amas de Casa Association celebrated the festival of their patron saint, Santa Águeda, with a service held in the San Antonio chapel.
After the religious ceremony, the members processed past a picture of Santa Águeda, the patron saint of this ladies’ association.  They explained that “we are currently having a statue made for us of Santa Águeda, which will be ready in a month and next year we will be able to show it off”.
This is the second year that the association has celebrated this festival.
After the service they all went together to the Carmelite campsite next to the San Miguel river and prepared the lunch.  The menu could not have been more delicious, paella cooked over wood and as starters, salads, bread with tomato and a selection of sliced sausages.
The day ended with a raffle with several prizes for those present.
