Guardia Civil officers detain three men accused of theft at a quarry

A call from a citizen to the Guardia Civil emergency line, 062, alerted them to the fact that several vehicles and people acting suspiciously had been seen in a local quarry.  In response to this, the Guardia Civil Services Operations Centre phoned the nearby patrols telling them to go there.
The rapid action of the Guardia Civil meant that when they turned up at the quarry, they saw that the barrier was open and that the padlock had been forced, and they found inside a number of people who, as the Guardia Civil arrived, started to escape.  This lead to the officers arresting three of the men they found there, one of them when he left by the forced opening to the warehouse in the quarry.
They also confiscated three lorries loaded with an engine and a collection of metal valued at about 9,000 euros, all identified as property of the quarry by quarry employees, as well as a people carrier and tools to carry out the theft such as propane bottles and two blowlamps.
As a result, they then proceeded to arrest P.S.C., 35 years old, F.D.D., 33 years old and D.D.C., 29 years old.
The arrest was carried out by officers from the Alcala de Xivert Guardia Civil with the collaboration of the town’s Local Police.
