Alcossebre
A nice Easter Sunday Evening at the Alcossebre Pensioners
At seven o´clock in the evening there was nearly no room left at San Benet. Was it because there was free entrance, free wine and a still unknown present?
After the dance stopped and before the snacks started, president Jacinto thanked the members for their unexpectedly numerous presence, announcing at the same time the present, a „mona de Pascua“, the typical regional Easter cake, for each member, and hot Spanish chocolate.
The cakes were distributed by members of the Committee and collaborators, while you had to queue for the wine and the chocolate, which really didn´t mean any problem, due to the once more efficient organization of the new bar and kitchen staff. I don´t know how many members followed my example, dipping part of the cake into the chocolate; you can easily imagine that afterwards there was no room left for the snacks brought from home or for sandwiches at the bar
Before dancing started again, vice- mayor Ricardo Aguilar rememered San Benet´s inauguration three years ago. He said that it´s nice to have a beautiful, modern building, but that the people who fill it with life, are much more important..He thanked the President and the Committee for their successful work and the members for their energy. Just have a look at the dance floor, he continued, when everybody is dancing in line, a challenge for me who soon will become a pensioner, too.
A wonderful, entertaining evening which I am sure will be followed by more..
