Alcala Council’s Flickr site has received close on a hundred thousand hits

New technologies are good news for the Alcala Council.  And this gallery of pictures created by the Council last summer on Flickr is just short of receiving a hundred thousand hits, which shows what a great success it is, taking into account that it is barely six months since the project began.

There are already over 1,500 pictures which everyone can see.  Go to the www.alcaladexivert.es web site, and click on the Flickr icon, and you can instantly access the pictures of all the social events which have taken place in the municipality.

At the moment, this project is more important with the pictures of the most attended local event of the year.  Carnival goers will be able to download the high quality pictures free of charge just by accessing this gallery.

Francisco Juan, the mayor of Alcala, said “that through the municipal web, a person can access any picture of the events taking place is our municipality such as the patronal fiestas, Christmas, sporting and cultural events.... The Mayor also announced that the municipal web, which is continually being updated, now has a video channel which also shows different events held in the town.  “We must take advantage of new technologies in all our homes”, the mayor stated.
