Opening the Avenida de Castellon this summer will relieve the traffic congestion in Alcossebre
The extension to the Avenida de Castellón in Alcossebre could be open for traffic at the beginning of July, as the mayor of Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre, Francisco Juan Mars, was able to see when he visited the site.
As he explained, “The opening of this road will enable the traffic congestion in the coastal town to be reduced, so that tourists and residents who want to get to the Las Fuentes urbanisation can get directly there without having to go through the centre of the town”.
The work is being carried out along a 420 metre stretch, with a budget of 300,000 euros, with pavements which are 3.5 metres wide and a 5 metre wide roadway.
The pavements will have street lighting and holes for planting trees. From the current stage of the work, it can be seen that it will soon be possible to asphalt the road and make the pavements, once the levelling and compacting of the surface is completed.
