Alcossebre
The Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Charity Gala collected over 900 euros and 600 kilos of foodstuffs for the Food Banks
On 17th August 2014, Alcossebre held its second Charity Gala, organised by the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council. The purpose of the event was to collect non-perishable foodstuffs for the local Food Banks, and also to collect donations of money for the purchase of foodstuffs.
Many local organisations took part in the event – the “Alcozancos” stilt-walkers; the “Lo Xular” group of pipes and drums; Alcala Red Cross; the “El Repiquet” Group of Drummers; the “Alcossebre Joven” association and the Charity Shop – among others.
Throughout the evening, many residents, tourists, groups and companies came and made their donations, among those were the Alcossebre “San Benet” Pensioners Association and the Friends of Alcossebre, and in all, they managed to collect over 600 kilos of food and nearly 1,000 euros which will be used to buy foodstuffs.
