The Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council is happy with the agreement reached with the Ministry of Works for the Government to undertake the work to connect the different agricultural roads which link Alcalà de Xivert and Alcossebre across from the current roundabout which accesses the coast.
The mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, stated that “following discussions with the Ministry of Works, the council has been able to meet this demand, principally to allow the local growers to get to their fincas without having to use the N-340 with agricultural vehicles”.
He wanted to point out the importance of these works, to which will shortly be added the resurfacing of the road and, together with the new access, will improve the transit of vehicles along this road which is used a lot by farmers. These works will start immediately.
Francisco Juan Mars said that the combined budget for these two projects, the part which the Ministry of Works will undertake and the part which the council itself will fund, amounts to an estimated 200,000 euros.
The town’s mayor went on to explain that previously these roads had been kept clean, with the edges cleared of vegetation, thanks to machinery belonging to the Diputación Provincial.
