From Thursday 29th January, Alcala de Xivert Council is changing traffic directions in the central area of Alcossebre.  Following a study carried out by the Local Police, workers employed under the Employment Plan have already installed new road signs, and painted signs on the roads and to indicate parking areas in the streets where the traffic flow direction has been changed.

This change and reorganisation of traffic will enable pedestrian zones to be created, as in calle La Timba which will be the first of the streets where work will start.  It is part of an integral pedestrianisation plan, resulting from a study carried out by the Valencia Polytechnic, with the objective ensuring that any possible future extensions will be of  uniform appearance, “the aim is to make all the different phases have the same appearance” the town’s mayor, Francisco Juan, stated.

The streets which are being pedestrianised will have new paving “which will be of modern appearance by using ceramic materials”.

The second phase will continue after Holy Week in the Plaza Vista Alegre and will include modernising the appearance of the Tourist Information Office.
