Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre
The Partido Popular retains its absolute majority in Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre
Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre was one of the few coastal municipalities in Castellón province where the Partido Popular, under the leadership of Francisco Juan Mars, survived the electoral tidal wave which covered the map from north to south. Although they lost one councillor compared with the last legislature, with a loss of about 230 votes, the PP kept its absolute majority over a growing PSOE, lead by Joan Ronchera, which, although they received 1,129 votes (277 more than in 2011), stay with the four seats obtained in past elections. Compromis retains just one seat, although their support increased by 165 more votes. And Joaquin Zaragozá returns to the council, this time standing for the Ciudadanos party.
