Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre establishes its position on social media

[Img #42631]Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre is banking on the town’s position on social media.  According to the mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, “we have been intensifying our work on this since the beginning of the year”.

 

Six months afterwards the town has begun to notice the first fruits of this image strategy, coordinating the Tourism department with the Tourist Board, “we are now on the map; as a tourist destination, Alcossebre is one of the most followed in Castellón province”, the mayor commented.

 

In the Tourism sector, the results of the first six months this year show that its profile is among the most visited places amongst the principal social networks.  In the case of Facebook, in six months it has passed from 2,615 to 9,611 followers, putting it in second place, after Peñíscola; with the city of Castellón in third place.

 

On Twitter, the number of followers has increased by 2,646, from 516 in January to 3,162 people.  The report on social networks shows that there are constant increases in the number of followers on other networks such as Instagram and Google+.

 

As far as the impact on national numbers, those with the greatest presence on the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre social network sites come from Madrid, Valencia and Catalunya.  At an international level, it is those from countries such as France, the United Kingdom and Germany.

 

“The strategy is based on showing people photographs of our beaches and the most delightful spots in our municipality, together with our sports, culture and heritage offers, among other things” Tourism councillor, Alejandra Roca, said.  She added that “we want to encourage tourists and visitors to share their snapshots on the networks”.
