The Maestrat’s 22nd Gathering of Music Bands was held in Alcala de Xivert

On Saturday, 3rd October, Alcala de Xivert welcomed the Maestrat’s 22nd year of their “Music Bands Gathering”
A total of 12 musical groups from all over the region, from places such as Traiguera, Salzadella, Xert, Cálig, Canet lo Roig, Cervera del Maestre, La Jana, Peñíscola, Rossell, Sant Jordi, Sant Mateu, Santa Magdalena de Pulpis, accompanied the hosts, the Alacala de Xivert Asociació Musical Santa Cecilia.
The bands participating processed through the streets of Alcala de Xivert, along a route taking them into the church square, where each band played a piece of their own choice, then went on to be presented with a bow tie as a souvenir of the day, from the hands of the town’s mayor, Francisco Juan Mars.
Finally, over 600 musicians played the piece “L’aiguader” composed by Remigio Miralles Sospedra, followed by maestro Serrano’s Valencian Regional Hymn.
