The Alcossebre Players triumph together with the Golden Girls in a great theatrical evening

.
[Img #4930]The Salon Blue Room at Tropicana was full to enjoy the Alcossebre Players performance during a theatrical evening which was also attended by mayor Francisco Juan as well as various members of the council.  Ricardo Aguilar, Desa Pitarch and Maria Agut, together with the mayor, were the municipal representatives.
The programme offered by these amateur actors was very varied and, above all, entertaining.  One of the high points of the night was the debut of the Golden Girls – a group of ladies who gave the audience a ‘real good time’.  They won everybody’s affection with their interpretations on stage of several scenes from productions such as Cats, The Phantom of the Opera and the film The Third Man.
After the Golden Girls, it was the turn of members of the Alcossebre Players.  The title of the piece was “The Last Panto” and it told of the adventures and mishaps of a not very successful amateur theatrical group when trying to put on their next production.
It goes without saying that all those taking part in the spectacle were enthusiastically applauded by the audience.  Mayor Francisco Juan was there, for whom “evenings like this are the best example of how the many foreign residents in Alcossebre, particularly the English, are integrated in the social life of the town”.  And for the mayor, “this group which has delighted us tonight on the stage is an example of their constant activity and desire to have a good time and to let people enjoy it with them”.
