Work has started to improve the pedestrian areas around the Playa del Moro in Alcossebre
The General Department for Coastal and Sea Sustainability, a body which is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, has started work to improve the Playa del Moro area in Alcossebre.
The mayor of the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council, Francisco Juan Mars, said he was delighted that the work has started. Improvements to the coastal path and an extension of the pedestrian area along this part of the Alcossebre coast were first requested by the Council long ago.
After over a year of negotiations and meetings between the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council and the General Department for Coastal and Sea Sustainability, finally a first solution to the pedestrian area along the Playa del Moro is taking place.
The work “will improve the existing coastal path, create new green areas and a pedestrian pavement will be created and asphalted”, stated the local mayor. He emphasised that the cost of this work will be totally borne by the ministry.
Francisco Juan Mars said that he was happy with this first step and hoped that the ministry would continue making investments to improve a coast where work is always being carried out to improve its quality and facilities for our residents and visitors, as well as contributing to obtaining further recognition like the “blue footpath” award.
