Alcossebre opens a beach suitable for pets

The beach in Alcossebre which is suitable for dogs is in the L’Estany area, on the Serradal.  The Tourism councillor, Alejandra Roca, expressed her satisfaction that “in this way, Alcossebre has provided a tourist service which has been much requested and this beach has been prepared after complaints from an ever increasing number of the public, who travel and spend their holidays with their pets”.  The beach is in an open space with pebbles and sand, with good access and parking.

There are sign boards at the entrance to the beach requesting all users to respect the regulations for use:  to keep their pets under control, as it is not a beach for the exclusive use of people with dogs; to pick up the animal’s excrement; to ensure that dangerous dogs are wearing a muzzle and to use the waste bins and leave the space clean.  Non-compliance with these regulations could result in a fine from 50 to 3000 euros, according to the regulatory municipal bylaw covering the use and exploitation of the Alcala-Alcossebre beaches.  Next to the signs there are special waste bins with plastic bag dispensers for picking up the excrement.

The Services Department has taken on a special cleaning team to clean the beach every day, to guarantee that it is in a perfect condition.  Also, the Local Police will be patrolling to ensure that the regulations are correctly complied with.
