Alcala-Alcossebre creates four new tourist offers based on marine activities, walking, family tourism and sport

They will be marketed via different media both nationally and internationally such as “Introducing Castellón” making the most of the airport’s potential

The Alcala-Alcossebre Tourism Department has launched its marketing of four tourist attractions uniting the town’s potential for heritage, nature, family tourism and sporting activities.  The initiative was drawn up together with the Alcala-Alcossebre Business Association, aiming to “complete our offers and add value to them, through the existing tourist resources we have and which can result in an important attraction for the ever-increasing number of visitors who are looking for specific and themed offers”, the Tourism councillor, Alejandra Roca, explained.

“Nautical tourism” offers underwater experiences and sailing sports making the most of the possibilities in the Alcossebre marina – the nearest to the Natural Park of the Columbretes Islands – and business initiatives with great experience in the sector.  “Walking, 4,000 years of history” proposes walking routes past the great local architectural and historical heritage places, starting with the archaeological layers at the Santa Lucia chapel and the Xivert castle with its Templar fort and the Ebrí Tower.  “Walking for the family” supports family tourism, guiding them along routes so that every member of the family can enjoy the landscape and nature.  Finally, “Biking around the Sierra de Irta” creates cycling routes taking you right into the Natural Park, finding corners where the sea and the mountain complement each other.

The Globus agency, which operates out of Valencia, will market these products through several channels, such as on-line selling or via their own leaflets.  One of the main platforms they work with is Introducing Castellón, the product club formed by tourism businesses in the province to attract visitors and promote Castellón airport.  The Alcala-Alcossebre Tourism Councillor, Alejandra Roca, explained that “we are already included, both as a destination and our local establishments, in Introducing Castellón to create synergy with the business sector and the very important infrastructure provided by the Castellón airport”.
