A new gastronomic society starts up in Alcala-Alcossebre
David Poppioni and the Mayor of Alcala de Xivert, Francisco Juan Mars, launched the new gastronomic society born in the town.
The announcement could have been made in no better way than at a dinner “among friends” which was attended by the mayor and councillor Ricardo Aguilar among other residents and members.
There was a taster menu for the dinner, with several dishes and a wine tasting.
David, founder and chairman of the society explained the society’s origins “it really all arose from fishing. Everything we catch (between him and other members), we then get together to cook and take lunch or dinner together. Then we thought we could do this with more people, as it is a good way of sharing a pleasant time and the good gastronomy of the area”.
The mayor of Alcala-Alcossebre congratulated them on their initiative, saying that he was happy because “it is good to see that in a town like this there are so many groups who day by day involve themselves in life in the town and participate in and create activities which people enjoy”.
And he repeated his support for the group “the council will be at your side for whatever you may need”.
This group has just been formed, and hopes shortly to have a web page (which will include a link on the municipal site, together with other groups) to advertise the activities they want to organise and how to become a member.
