Alcala-Alcossebre Council request the Health Department to extend the SVB ambulance availability to 24 hours

Francisco Juan, the Mayor, expressed “concern at there being only one ambulance available for 12 hours which also provides support for the SAMUS in Torreblanca and Vinaros”

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has requested the Public and Universal Health Department to extend the Basic Vital Support (SVB) ambulance hours to 24 in the municipality.  In the letter, the mayor, Francisco Juan, explains his “concern that life in the town depends on only one SVB ambulance for 12 hours a day” and stresses that, at certain times of the year, such as the summer, the population increases and “with this service it is impossible to cover all the demands for attention from our residents and visitors”.  As a further aggravation, this ambulance regularly provides assistance in the event of traffic accidents or transport to hospitals, supporting the SAMUS in Torreblanca and Vinaros, thus making it unavailable here in the municipality.
