The Forest Brigades clear undergrowth in Alcala-Alcossebre
They are working on municipal land, river banks and pedestrian areas
There is an extensive cleaning and clearing campaign being carried out in Alcala-Alcossebre by the Forest Brigades, to improve the conditions of various spaces, eliminate areas of grasses and low scrubland, and create an environment to prevent the outbreak of fires. The Brigades are working with the Provincial Fire Brigades Consortium and the Forest Fire Prevention General Management.
The Town Planning councillor, José Colom, said that “the Council facilitated the authorisations for the General Management and the Provincial Fire Brigades Consortium to clean up the municipal properties and managed the licences for them to work in private areas. It is essential that the scrubland is cleared, in order to prevent fires and to prevent the poor image produced if the vegetation is not under control”.
Work has already been carried out in ditches and gutters along the access road to Alcossebre and in the areas surrounding the Bassa Espitges and the Bassa Llona and the municipal plot next to the roundabout at the access to the Las Fuentes-Alcossebre road, the El Campaner industrial estate, Palmar, Solivella and the calle Irta. Work is also being carried out in urbanisations and inhabited areas: Aralar-Marcolina, Cala Blanca, Ribamar, Las Fuentes and El Pinar. The river banks being cleared are El Clot del Gitano and in Sequiol.
