Alcala-Alcossebre is working to promote the installation of new businesses in the El Campaner industrial park

Together with the Castellón Chamber of Commerce, the Alcala-Alcossebre Council is working to spread the information about the El Campaner industrial park, having learned about the interest of businesses installed in Catalonia in moving elsewhere. For the Council, emphasis is being put on the advantages which setting up in Alcala could mean for the businesses: direct access to the N340, exit to the AP-7 and A-7 14 kms away and only 60 kms from the port of Castellón and a completely developed industrial centre with facilities such as a helicopter pad for emergency transport. In addition, the Council offers discounts to municipal taxes to promote the establishment of new businesses: 95% of the ICIO and the activity license.
The El Campaner industrial park covers an area of 228,666 sq.m., of which 137,186 are industrial. There are 68 plots, varying in size between 800 and 5,875 sq.m. The purchase price is 50 euros/sq.m. – much lower than that set when the park was created – and there are alternatives such as renting with the option to buy. The permitted uses are industrial, tertiary and warehousing in stores or buildings, semi-detached or detached.
The Mayor Francisco Juan indicated that “we do not want to take advantage of the situation in Catalonia but it is a fact that businesses are showing interest in moving, and therefore we must offer our industrial park as an alternative. If this means the arrival of new businesses and the creation of employment in our municipality, we are meeting a dual aim”.
Through the Chamber of Commerce, the information has been passed to the various business associations, in a task which is already happening but which will increase, given the latest situation leading to businesses moving.
