The Alcala socialists demand that the Alcossebre road is tarmacked correctly.

The management of the Alcala-Alcossebre PSPV have expressed their discontent at the dangerous and lamentable state of the coastal nucleus road and demand that it is put right before the summer season.

According to comments by the PSPV, up to the start of work on the sewer in the Alcossebre access road, the asphalt on it was in a normal state, with no big potholes or unevenness.  They criticise that “once the sewer installation work was finished along this section of the road, only part of the Alcossebre access road was resurfaced (where the trench had been dug), leaving the exit lane in the condition it was in before the work began”.
The socialists are concerned because “this partial asphalting means that the road surface is in a dangerous state for traffic because of the great number of potholes and bumps there”.  Besides the question of road safety, they add that “the aspect of the road tarnishes the tourist image and detracts from attracting more visitors to the municipality which aspires to tourism excellence”.
For this reason, the Alcala-Alcossebre PSPV has put forward a motion to be debated and voted on at the next ordinary council meeting with the aim of “urging the PP Governing Group to request that whoever is responsible should finish the road surface correctly, across the whole width of the road”.  Finally, the socialists state that “in any contract process for public work, the company awarded the contract must provide a financial deposit guaranteeing that when finished the area will be returned to the condition it was in before the work started” for this purpose.  The PSPV demand that “this finance should be retained so that, in the event it is needed, it can be used to finish the work properly”.
