The Alcala-Alcossebre Fiestas Department has some new ideas for the Three Kings procession
The route through Alcossebre is being changed, passing along the camino L’Atall, the plaza Constitución and calle Rench to arrive at the church
The Alcala-Alcossebre Fiestas Department has some new ideas for the forthcoming Kings procession on 5th January which, as is traditional, will take place in Alcala and Alcossebre. The main changes, the retinue which accompanies Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar will be made up from two floats of young people, dressed like people from the Orient, with dancers and ‘batucadas’. There will be local groups, such as the Associació Musical Santa Cecilia, the Alcozancos and Lo Xular, joining the procession. As is traditional, the Kings will each be riding in a carriage.
The Alcossebre procession will start at 16:30h, following a different route this year: camino L’Atall – in front of the restaurante Dora -, the plaza Constitución and the calle Rench up to the church. In Alcala, it will start at 19:00h with the arrival of the three Kings and their royal pages along the calle General Cucaa and, from there, along the calles Doctor Seguer, La Pala, San Nicolás, plaza Juan Vilanova, Molinet, Sa Juan and into the Church square.
The Fiestas councillor, Susan Guillamón, has said that “it is a very special event for the children and we want it to be magical and give them a great memory. Therefore we are making it more special and complete. We hope that both adults and children will enjoy it”.
