The Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change councillor, Elena Cebrián, visited Alcossebre on 26th January showing her interest in the drain system renovation work which is being carried out locally and, in particular, in that with which the Generalitat Valenciana has cooperated financially.  Accompanied by the Mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, and the rest of the municipal corporation, she visited the plaza Constitución, where new rainwater drains have been installed to reduce the danger of flooding during heavy rainfall.  The work had a budget of 52,000 euros, of which the Generalitat paid 60% and the Council the rest.

Later the councillor visited the Las Fuentes beach where the Generalitat Valenciana invested 50,000 euros to ensure the environmental quality, aiming to prevent any new contamination episodes.  The Mayor Francisco Juan thanked her for “the involvement and cooperation both by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Diputación Provincial – which also provided 50,000 euros – to continue the Council’s efforts to inspect, control and modernise the network”.
