The Consell approves the agreement between the Valencian Youth Institute and the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council to issue the Youth Card
Alcala de Xivert will give discounts with the Carnet Jove for training activities, sports, and guided routes and visits

The Consell meeting approved the agreement for cooperation between the Institut Valencià de la Joventut (IVAJ) and the Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre Council to issue the Carnet Jove in its municipal centre for juvenile information.
The agreement would benefit young people between 14 and 30 years old in this town in which the Carnet Jove currently has about 30% take up.
Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council applies discounts for young people for guided visits, when carrying out training classes organised by the Youth department in public spaces, when carrying out sports activities organised by the council as well as the series of routes to get to know the Alcala de Xivert municipality.
The agreement approved establishes the conditions for collaboration between the Generalitat and the council for the issuing of the Carnet Jove, offering a new service to young people at a local level, in accordance with the terms established by the European Association of the Carnet Jove (EYCA) and the IVAJ.
“This offers our young people a complete service, as the Council will incorporate the service to obtain the classic setting of the Carnet in its own register in the Municipal Offices in a quick and easy way, without having to travel further away as well as following the Juvenile Information Point, through which we spread information of interest, on activities, courses and campaigns”, the Youth councillor, Susan Guillamón, pointed out.
To date, the IVAJ has subscribed to a total of 76 agreements for issuing with councils in the Comunitat Valenciana to encourage the youth credentials at a local level for the development of cultural activities, educational leisure, sports and better conditions for international movement throughout Europe.
Currently councils in the province of Castellón with an agreement for the issuing of the Carnet Jove are: Borriana, Onda, Sant Jordi, Sant Mateu, Torreblanca, Traiguera, la Vall d'Uixò, Vila-real, Vinarós and now Alcalà de Xivert.
Advantages and discounts for young people
In the Valencian Community there are a total of 244,707 Carnet Jove holders, and a network of 130 councils, 58 in the province of Valencia, 47 in Alicante province and 25 in Castellón province which apply discount to young people.
Of the 25 Castellón councils which have joined the Carnet Jove network, in total, there are eight in the Baix Maestrat area: Alcalà de Xivert, Benicarló, Pobla de Benifassà, Peñiscola, Sant Jordi, Sant Mateu,Traiguera and Vinaròs.
There are also 189 businesses in Castellón province which give discounts, the list ofwhich can be found on the IVAJ web www.ivaj.gva.es. The site also shows the distribution of the Carnet Jove and how to receive up-to-date information about promotions and offers.
