The two training courses will specialise in promotion and tourism information, aiming to add to the training of students or recent graduates who want to develop the activity in the local tourist sector.  They will be able to put their knowledge into practice and increase it by carrying out different tasks as tourist advisers, in the Alcala and Alcossebre Town Tourism Offices.

Each grant will have a gross value of 600 euros per month and each will last for 3 months (from the 15th June to the 14th September).  The recipients of the grants will work 25 hours per week, at times to be decided by the Tourism Department.

The requirements include being in higher grade training programmes, higher secondary school education or at university studying for a diploma or degree, or have finished these studies in 2016, 2017 or 2018.  The basic requirements for requesting admission to the course can be downloaded from the Alcala de Xivert municipality web site.  Applications must be received by the 23rd May 2018.

Tourism councillor, Alejandra Roca, said that “these grants can lead to further training in tourism, which is such an important sector for our municipality.  It also offers an opportunity for young people in our town to work for three months”.
