The Partido Popular complains that the Valencian Generalitat has not permitted there to be a bus stop in Alcossebre from the airport.

The Valencian Generalitat has still not resolved the complaints presented by the Alcala-Alcossebre Council regarding the Vinaròs-Castellon public bus service project linking the airport with the province’s towns, to have it modified to include a stop in Alcossebre. “We cannot understand how the Generalitat can set up a bus route which overlooks Alcossebre, the main destination for those who land at the airport”, the mayor, Francisco Juan, who is also the Partido Popular candidate to be mayor, explained that he wondered “why, when the town and the business sector are urging us to confirm our position as a tourist destination, should the Valencian Generalitat delete us from the map”.
The Valencian Generalitat put forward the project in May 2018 and still has not resolved the complaints about why the question of a bus entering Alcossebre is still up in the air. In view of the lack of a reply from the Generalitat, the Alcala-Alcossebre Council wrote to the General Director of Public Works, Transport and Mobility, asking for the complaints to be urgently resolved and he has replied that the matters are still in the process of resolution.
Juan reminded us that “we have already seen a similar situation when the Alcala-Alcossebre taxis were not allowed to work in the airport and the Council made a claim which has now finally been acceded to. Now we shall continue making the claim for Alcossebre to have this very necessary bus stop” and he added that “we are concerned to see how the Partido Popular is alone in fighting for this and that the Partido Socialista and Compromis, which govern in the Generalitat and would be able to add pressure, are silent in the face of this injustice”.
