Alcala-Alcossebre has a new annual programme of tourist activities with offers of guided tours, walking, dramatized routes and parties with the main aim of offering all-year tourist attractions and activities. Tourism councillor, Alejandra Roca, explained that “we have a comprehensive offer of activities included now during the months when there are less tourists; during the high season they were well received with an activity practically every day”. Activities started on Saturday, 23rd March with “Photographic walking in the Sierra d’Irta”, at 10am from the Cala Blanca and lasted approximately 4 hours.
New this year will be guided routes following “The Templar Heritage”, indicating the principal heritage resources in the centre of Alcala, using historical reference panels which can also be followed using an APP. A total of 46 guided visits are planned on this theme. The diary is completed with dramatized tours in the Xivert castle, with the Templars theme and Muslim era, and pirate invasions in Capicorb. Nocturnal tours will be included in the Santa Lucía hermitage and in the Xivert castle, walks studying fungi and photography, family games parties, bike rides and gastronomic tourism, during which the cultivation of traditional crops such as artichokes and the hanging tomato will be explained. “These are activities which take into consideration our support for family tourism and our desire for people to get to know our architectural and historic heritage and awaken visitors’ interest and thus increase the flow of tourists between Alcala and Alcossebre”, the councillor pointed out, saying that “the result of setting up these annual diaries is very positive as the visits are always fully booked”.
To take part in any of these activities you should register in the Tourist Office in the plaza Vista Alegre or by phone to 964 41 22 05
For more information go to the complete programme of activities on the municipal website.
