Alcossebre’s Second Gastronomy Fair programme has seven cookery demonstrations and two public tastings

A full programme has been planned for the Alcossebre Second Gastronomy Fair to show off and spread knowledge of the Castellón Flavour Route products.  So, following the formula of the iconic Alcala Hanging Tomato Fair, as well as the stalls there are parallel activities, with free attendance for anyone who wants to attend.  The most popular events are the cookery demonstrations which start on Friday, 3rd May, at 18.30h, with the “Amigos del Buen Yantar” giving their demonstration of rice recipes with blue crab, which the audience will be able to taste afterwards.  On Saturday, 4th May, at 11.30h, the cookery demonstration will be given by pupils of the Castellón CdT with products from the Castellón Flavour Route.  At 17.00h, cooks from the Atalaya Emmanuel Carlucci restaurant and Alejandra Herrador will also be giving a demonstration and they will be followed at 18.00h by Marc Martorell and Dany Silva from the Gaudir restaurant.  Both restaurants are in Alcossebre.  On Sunday, 5th May, at 11.00h, the demonstration will be given by Paco González, accompanied by Beatriz González from the “Comisqueros” blog.  At 17.30h, chef Modesto Fabregat from the Serra d’Irta restaurant will give a demonstration and, finally, at 18.30h, a demonstration by Nico Barreda from the Pou de Beca restaurant.

 

The tastings will start on Saturday at 19.00h, with a popular tasting of the Castellón Flavour Route red wines married with Tot de Poble cheeses, presented by Juan Carlos Pavía and Oscar Sales.  On Sunday, at 12.00h, the tasting will be of Castellón Flavouor Route white wines, by Carloso García, manager of the Ópalo restaurant in Oropesa.  To attend these tastings you must register and buy tickets, at 3€, at the fair.

 

The demonstrations and tasting will take place in the prepared area for the fair, in the calle Rench.  The festival programme atmosphere will completed with concerts by The B.Wild and Simago Lemons bands.  Also, the restaurants and bars taking part in the Gastronomy Days, at the same time as the fair, will be offering their menus and tapas based on products on the Castellón Flavour Route.
