The event celebrating raising the blue flags, which certify the quality of Alcossebre’s beaches, means that they are now flying over the Cargador, Romana, El Moro and Mañetes beaches. There is also a blue flag awarded for the Coastal Path which links the Cargador and Romana beaches, making this Baix Maestrat town the one with the greatest amount of recognition. The beaches also have the quality award Qualitur and they are cardio-protected beaches, as they have defibrillators in the Lifesaving and Rescue Service points.
Mayor Francisco Juan stated that “we work throughout the year to maintain the good quality of the beaches and of the Services which are available and the best recompense is that every year users value the state of the beaches, the surroundings and the available services”. Tourism councillor, Jaime Albert, indicated that “our beaches and services are now ready for the start of the summer season”.
New this year, the life-saving and rescue services will operate longer as, during the months of July and August, they will be extended to 20.00h. Also, the areas suitable for disabled people have been improved: the shaded areas have been enlarged and the units for the services and changing rooms and the showers have been improved.
