Alcala-Alcossebre Council decides on work to be carried out in Capicorb to improve the road surface and lighting
The Mayor met with the Residents Association and announced that the camino Artola will be asphalted and that the necessary authorisations are awaited to install new lighting, and a cycle and pedestrian lane.

Alcala-Alcossebre council will carry out several different actions to improve the road network, asphalt and illumination in Capicorb. The Mayor Francisco Juan had a meeting with members of the Capicorb Residents Association to put together their requests and needs and, during the meeting, announced that the camino Artola is to be asphalted with immediate effect. This work, at a cost of 113,000 euros, is considered as a Financially Sustainable Investment, from monies remaining in the treasury from a previous budget and the finance will be approved at the July full ordinary council meeting.
The Mayor also advised the Association about matters in hand with different administrations for the necessary permission to install new lighting, with solar-powered street lights along the section between the Jaume I Campsite and Capicorb, as well as the construction of a cycle and pedestrian lane. Juan reminded them that “the new lighting was already included in the 2019 municipal budget, with an amount of 75,000 euros, so that when the authorisation is received, we can carry it out”. Future meetings are already planned with the Costas Provincial Service and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation to obtain the necessary permission to carry out the work. The Council has also prepared a project to improve the illumination in the area surrounding the old school and has adopted the promise to carry it out during this legislature.
During the meeting, the Mayor emphasised that “the Council and residents must work along the same lines and hand in hand to demand that the rest of the administrations must act promptly so that everything planned can be decided upon to improve Capicorb”
