The provincial deputy for the Integral Cycle of Water, Renewables, Waste and Recycling, Ignasi Garcia, expressed his willingness to cooperate with Alcala de Xivert Council to find a solution to the leaks which eventually contaminate the Alcossebre Las Fuentes beach with E.coli.
He also reminded Alcala de Xivert mayor, Francisco Juan, that the Diputación’s doors are open to all mayors and mayoresses in Castellón province, whatever the political colour of the municipal corporation. According to Garcia, “above all, it is the task citizens have entrusted to us” and, therefore, “if the municipal government has found a problem which requires the Diputación to intervene, it is their responsibility to take it to the provincial corporation to activate the necessary protocols for action”. Finally, the deputy added that “other municipalities of all political colours have already contacted us over different matters and we have responded, as we will do in the same way, if the Alcala government asks us to”.
