Alcala-Alcossebre to renovate its Tourism Strategy Plan taking advantage of the tourist potential of the municipality
Based on the 2017-2020 Strategy Plan, which introduced new products such as the guided routes, work is now being carried out on the presence on social networks and the creation of a yearly calendar of tourist activities

The management policy for Alcala-Alcossebre tourist resources and implementation of new products along these lines will continue with the preparation of a new Tourism Strategy Plan, to come into force when the current 2017-2020 Tourism Strategy Plan ends. The government team is planning to create a budget amount in the 2020 municipal budget to finance the preparation of this Plan using specialist bodies, such as university institutes or consultants.
The 2017-2020 Tourism Strategy Plan was drawn up taking the socioeconomic context of the locality into account, as well as the heritage, natural, cultural, social and other resources and adding different points of view, through participation meetings attended by all the municipal groups, businesses and groups. Its implementation involved introducing new tourist products such as the annual calendar of tourist activities, support for cultural tourism taking advantage of the architectural resources in Alcala – with the “La Herencia del Temple” guided routes and consolidating the presence of Alcala-Alcossebre as a tourist destination on social networks and on-line platforms.
The Mayor, Francisco Juan, explained that “Tourism is a very dynamic and changing sector, so that before the current Strategy Plan comes to an end, we cannot stop and must keep the preparation of the next Plan up to date and able to help us to explore new market opportunities for Alcala-Alcossebre, at a tourism level”.
