Alcala-Alcossebre Council will include in the 2020 municipal budgets, the initial actions to tackle the recuperation of the historic centre. The first step will be the preparation of a Rehabilitation Plan for the Historic Centre which will analyse the current state, putting boundaries on the zones on which it will act, the problems which the demographic, financial and social situations present and any possible actions to be developed. At the same time, a Catalogue of Good Constructive Practices will be drawn up which will reflect the type of constructive solutions applicable to achieve a unified rehabilitation in the historic centre.
“It is a priority aim for my government team to recuperate our historic centre and we are aware that to achieve this, we have to involve home owners, providing them with technical and financial aid, from the Council”, Mayor Francisco Juan said when reminding them that “this is not an exclusive problem for our town and therefore we shall visit other places where they are already tackling this problem to see how they are managing it and what results they have obtained and, if they are positive, apply them to our town”.
Mayor Francisco Juan and the town architect José Luis Sala have met with the committee of the Castellón Architects Territorial College (CTAC), presided over by Ángel Pitarch, to promote this historic Centre recuperation. The CTAC advised the Council about the different alternative techniques, as well as about the existence of different aid programmes at European, central and autonomous level. “The Council already has aid for the rehabilitation of façades but we are talking about a much more ambitious and complete action, at a global level of recuperation, for which we need input from the rest of the administrations and we shall work to achieve it”, the Mayor ended.
