Alcala-Alcossebre Council has unanimously approved the project to construct a new multi-functional building as an Espai d’Oci and Casal Jove in Alcossebre. The budget for the project is 955,000 euros, which will be paid in three yearly instalments between 2019-2021. In the current year, 290,000 euros coming from the treasury remaining funds as Sustainable Financial Investment. Regarding future instalments, the necessary amounts will be made available to undertake the work. This new municipal building will be situated on a municipal plot in the calle Bedoll and will have a build area of over 1,400 sq. metres, distributed between a bright ground floor – with space for erecting a movable stage – and a first floor with offices and multifunctional halls for the Casal Jove. Outside the building there will be vehicle parking space.
Mayor Francisco Juan said that “this is a much-requested new municipal building in Alcossebre, which, as has been taken into consideration, will be able to accommodate many different functions: cultural events, plays, school festivals, events related to tourism and financial promotions, courses, activities, etc. It will comply with what a municipal building must be: which the majority of all residents are able to use”.
The file for the administrative contract for the project was also unanimously approved and, through an open process, will enable interested companies to attend for carrying it out.
During the meeting, new councillor Jordi Batiste Aixa took up his post in the Fiestas, Youth and Sports department.
