On the 15th November in the Alcossebre CESAL, the Baix Maestrat Minor Coordinating group presented the digital magazine “We have spoken, listen”, as one of the events commemorating the Universal Day of Infancy. The Coordinating group is formed by the municipalities of Alcala de Xivert, Alcossebre, Benicarló, Mancomunitat Baix Maestrat (Traiguera, Calig, Canet lo Roig, La Jana, Sant Rafael i Rossell), Mancomunitat Castelló Nord (Sant Mateu, Catí, Cervera del Maestre, La Salzadella, Sant Jordi, Xert), Peñíscola and Vinaròs. The magazine collects children’s drawings and writings from the area on subjects like the environment, sport, the family and equality, and its main objective was to mark children’s right to expression so that their opinions should be taken into account. The president of the Coordinator of the Minor department, Belén Pomar, pointed out that “we have responsibility and an obligation to listen to them because a society which looks after its infants is a society of the future”.
The Mayor of Alcala-Alcossebre, Francisco Juan, said that “since it was created 20 years ago, the work carried out by the Minor Coordinating department has achieved a map of needs at a regional level and unites the efforts to offer better attention to minors”.
Also taking part in the event were the Social Policy councillor from Vinaros, Berta Doménech and the Alcala-Alcossebre Social Welfare councillor, Marien Traver, as well as members of the Social Services teams from the municipalities forming part of the Baix Maestrat Coordinating department for Minors.
