The traditional St. Isidore fair will again be a great event in Alcala de Xivert as there will be almost a hundred exhibitors there in the town.
Local businesses will be of vital importance at this year’s exhibition and there have been meetings with the local exhibitors to get their opinions and organise the location of their stands in the fair.  Groups such as the Asociación de Amas de Casa and the Asociación de Comercializadores y Productores de la ‘Tomata de Penjar’ are also taking part in the event.
Francisco Juan, the mayor of Alcala, wanted to highlight and thank the local groups for their participation in this fair: “we are very lucky to be able to count on some groups which are always available to support and promote any event which the Council organises.  They are a really important part of the town”.  Juan did not forget the local businesses and companies:  “without them, this fair would not be possible as they are a very important part of it”.
Rafa Trujillo, the Business and Markets councillor, confirmed that “we are still receiving requests to take part in the fair, so that it would not be ridiculous to think the number of exhibitors will increase”.  Trujillo also said that he was very happy with the cooperation and participation of local businesses and groups in this year’s St. Isidore Fair.
In parallel with the fair, other events have been confirmed which promise to be very interesting such as the exhibition of pictures of the Xivert Castle, in the CESAL.  There will also be another opportunity to enjoy the collection of old photographs reflecting the life and customs of the town through the years, as well as an exhibition of agricultural tools.
The traditional motorcycle rally and the lacemakers gathering, events which will take place on Sunday 27th May, will also bring together hundreds of people from Alcala’s neighbouring towns.
The St. Isidore Fair will also have a charitable side.  There will be a collection in the artisan market for autistic children in the province.
