Alcala-Alcossebre will provide health services for the population through the Azahar Health Resources Association

The agreement was signed with this body, which will be in charge of providing support products for people with reduced mobility, the managing of the Food Bank and first aid training.

Alcala-Alcossebre Council formalised the signing of an agreement on 27th February, for a value of 15,000 euros which was already included in the 2020 budget, with the Asociación Azahar de Recursos Sanitarios for the provision of health services to the population, always coordinating with the municipal Social Services.  Included in this Association’s functions are the provision of support products, such as articulated beds, wheel chairs, walkers, etc. for the people who need them, as well as helping to make changes to their home for people with reduced mobility.  They will also take charge of food transport and Food Bank volunteers, the dissemination of campaigns of a health type, such as blood donation and cooperation with the educational centres and local training bodies on first aid.

Mayor Francisco Juan and the Association’s President, Germán Hernández, signed the agreement, which will last until 31st December 2020, with an option for another year.  Juan valued it as “very positive that we can continue providing this service to our residents.  It is important support for cases such as older people or those with reduced mobility or for groups who need greater attention from the institutions”.
