With the aim of preventing the arrival of owners who possess second homes in Alcossebre and in view of how close the holiday dates are for Holy Week, the Alcala-Alcossebre Council has decided to reinforce the operation of controls to impede people who are travelling without justification from entering the locality. In this way, coinciding with the holidays and from Friday, 3rd April, access via secondary roads will be closed, in the Sierra d’Irta natural park and Capicorb. The controls will be set up and coordinated by Local Police and the Guardia Civil in the principal accesses from the National-340 to the nucleus. In both the access to Capicorb and in the Sierra d’Irta there are security cameras connected to the Local Police headquarters.
In compliance with the Real Decreto del Estado de Alarma (the Royal Decree of a State of Emergency) travel is only justified for getting to one’s main residence and, also, there can only be one occupant per vehicle, except when moving dependent people, children, people of advanced years or in other cases which can be properly justified.
“We cannot allow the irresponsibility of some to put the rest of the population in danger and, therefore, we are coordinating the teams which are necessary so that there are no arrivals in Alcossebre at this time”, Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised.
